I currently am using Trillian and Digsby (both allow you to keep track of all your IM accounts in one program, but Digsby can also keep track of friend updates on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter). I've also discovered that users who have MSN, Yahoo and ICQ can use those messengers to IM people on AIM/AOL IM.

I use YIM almost exclusively. Though I used Gabbly to receive an egg once and it worked pretty well, so I think I would use that again.

I had AIM and MSN on my other computer, which I gave to my Mom, and she said she will be erasing all non-essential programs. I hardly ever used AIM or MSN anyway, so I wasn't all that concerned about getting them again off the old comp.

I don't trust anything related to AOL anyway. :P

I use msn, aim, yim and google talk. I never intended to sign up for them but for the emails and they came with built in messengers except msn where you have to search for web msn. Having a multitude of ims makes for easier gifting. I do have an irc channel that I set up solely for gifting. I had to use it for a friend who didn't use ims but emails and pms and irc
